A PET for Paulenne

March first, 2005 a medical team from Vergennes, MI was in the Guasimal area on the savanna northwest of HAFF when they met Paulenne, a little girl who couldn’t walk and seemed to have a degenerative muscle condition.
One team member (pictured at left with Paulenne) felt a special calling to provide her with a PET (Personal Energy Transportation) “trike” that she could pedal around with her hands so she could at least be mobile and get to school and church during the remaining years of her life. Her father, Fr (brother) Dominique, a pastor, was very saddened to hear her diagnosis, but said the family would continue to pray for God’s merciful healing.
A month later, in April of that same year, a group of visitors from Cape Coral, FL was at HAFF when the PET arrived and they assembled it for delivery to Guasimal for Paulenne (photo at right).

This year, Dr Eric and Susan Anderson's clinic (see April 26th post) was held at the same church and they met Fr Dominique. He explained that eight years later, the PET was no longer needed. Paulenne is now 14 years old and in perfect health with no pain or weakness in her legs.

Thank God for His great mercy and provision of the PET and the church for their prayers. Just recently staff members visited another little girl who received a PET and were impressed that the extra physical activity it provides has changed her overall color and muscle tone quite visibly. Please continue to pray for the various medical and mercy outreaches of HAFF, that God will pour out His grace in many forms.

Below is a photo of Paulenne with her father, Fr Dominique this year. Below that is a short video Connie Curilla took of Paulenne when she came to visit Barb Van Shoyck at HAFF in June of 2011. The voice on the video is Connie's.
