Running Water at School!

Students often come to school at IPB having possibly walked as far as a couple of hours from home. Many of them come without breakfast. Many of them also come without having had any water to drink. Headaches are common, possibly from mild dehydration.

For years, HAFF's water carrier has been filling a cooler with water from HAFF's well for the students to drink. On hot days, he has sometimes had trouble keeping the cooler filled.

In the October 2012 HAFF Happenings, it was reported that a water tower was being built to provide running water. That tower has been completed, pipes have been run to the school yard and water fountains built (see photos at right and below).

Colin and Carla Wilson recently reported, “Colin finally got all the hardware for the 4 new water fountains and our students can now have as much as they want to drink all day long -- once they get the hang of how to twist the knobs since this is the first experience with faucets for many of them.”
