Cholera

First let it be said that everyone at HAFF is well. The Cholera outbreak has been taking place at least one mountain range south and east of us. Thankfully, no one in the area served by HAFF has been affected, that we know of. The water we use at HAFF comes from our own 200 foot well and all water used for drinking and cooking is either filtered or boiled. We are also taking precautions with our food.

As God would have it, we had already purchased enough water filters to enable each member of the HAFF Ministry Team to receive a water filter. We have stepped up the distribution plan in light of the current national crisis. Today at 3 pm, the HAFF Ministry Team will be meeting to learn about Cholera -- how it is transmitted, how to prevent it and how to treat it. And each one will go home with a water filter. We are very grateful for the donation which made it possible for us to provide the filters to the families.

For several years HAFF has made filtered water available to some members of the Bohoc community who are especially at risk for water borne illnesses. That program will continue. Please pray for Haiti at this time of yet another crisis.
