Update

The following report was recently sent to the HAFF board of directors by Executive Directors Barb and Greg Van Schoyck.
** The results of official exams this year were encouraging: of our 36 9th graders, 36 passed! For the Rheto students, 30 sat for the exam, 18 passed, 11 were given a chance to retake the exam, and 1 was eliminated. One more student passed the Rheto retake exam. For the Philo students, 7 composed for the exam, and 6 passed.
** School opened Monday 4 October with a roster of 197 students. Our Philo class will be starting Monday 11 October, so that figure should be higher next week. We had a small team with us that week, and among the team members was a wonderful woman, a judge from Virginia, who gave devotions. One of 10 children from the "projects", she really gave an awesome message that encouraged and inspired the kids. She stressed "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
**Klas Bon Fanm Tout Bon started Tuesday 5 October. We have 19 women from 7 churches, but the majority of the class comes from our immediate area. We intentionally wanted to get more people from this area so local folks would see the value of our non-formal programs. We will choose our Young Leaders for God this week, Lord willing, and begin classes the following week.

**Teresa Nesman arrived Friday 1 October to spend the school year at HAFF. We are delighted to have her with us! She will be helping in English with pronunciation and conversation for the 7th-9th graders once a week, and doing the same thing for the 9th graders in Spanish! She also will pick up some administrative duties and help host teams.
