Thus, in late June, the HAFF Board of Directors appointed an 11-member Executive Team, consisting of eight Haitian nationals and three North Americans missionaries, to manage all the ministry activities of HAFF in Haiti. Greg and Barb will serve as US Directors for the mission and will be traveling to and from Haiti during these next months serving the Executive Team, hosting visiting missions study teams, and helping to strengthen HAFF’s financial base in the United States.
Many months of prayer and preparation went into the process of selecting and building this executive team, including input and counsel from many Haitians both within the HAFF mission and in the community HAFF serves. As choices were made and the process bathed in prayer, we felt God’s blessing and guidance. We believe that these are the people God has appointed to the task of leading HAFF into the future.
Once the final selections were announced, the missionary staff conducted a commissioning cere-mony that effectively transferred the reigns of management over to the new Executive Team. From their very first meeting, the group has demonstrated a desire to work together in a spirit of unity of purpose to steward HAFF, and they have shown eminently teachable hearts. They have tirelessly spent many hours in meetings as they began the process of learning how to manage the HAFF ministry. This next year will be one of transition as missionaries Connie Curilla, Carla Wilson, and Barb Van Schoyck, the North Americans on the Executive Team, work to transfer knowledge of the many details involved in running the HAFF mission to the group.
Now that the Executive Team is in place, we ask you to help them in several very important ways.
The second way we ask for your help is by supporting HAFF financially. The difficult financial situation in the USA and the fragile global economy has affected HAFF’s finances significantly. The Executive Team is operating within a very tight budget, which may be difficult to cover if donations don’t increase. Please consider how you could help HAFF financially this fall with an increase in your monthly giving or with a one-time gift of support. Won’t you consider helping us invest in the future of HAFF and the hope for Haiti that it represents? Every gift makes a difference!
Thank you for your faithful support and prayers. We are thankful for your partnership as we minister together in Haiti – to the glory of God.
