National Exam Update

Thank you for your prayers for the HAFF students taking the national exams this year. If you follow the HAFF blog, you will be aware that the Philosophe class (grade 13) had a delay in their exam during Tropical Storm Chantal. In a recent phone call Dieugrand Major, the IPB teacher who stayed with the students reported that, of four days of exams, the students had already tested two and a half of them, with one and a half remaining, before the Haitian government announced the delay.

The students were neither worried, nor uneasy about the delay or the storm. Three of the students decided to wait the time out with their families at home. The rest of them stayed at the test site. Dieugrand explained, “they were laughing and telling jokes. They were also glad for the extra time to study for the Physics, Spanish and English exams which were the ones remaining.” HAFF sent more money and fire wood for the extra days. Dieugrand said, “the wood arrived on time and lasted the time needed. The students were very happy.” Exam results were still pending at the beginning of August.
