In June 2013 Chanda Williams posted on HAFF's Facebook page, “My daughters are 11 and 13 and have started an organization with their cousins called "Help Haiti Crafts." They make crafts to sell and want to send all the money they raise to HAFF... If you can send me a short list of what HAFF programs they can choose from that would be great.” HAFF intern April Lambiotte responded, “we are just getting a new IPB School Sponsorship Program (School Partners Program) off the ground. For exactly $250 a year you can support the school and receive monthly emailed newsletters on a different class.”

In September 2013, HAFF received a check for $250.00 and a letter from Chanda designating the money to the IPB School Partners Program (see the September 2013 HAFF Happenings for more about this program). HAFF Stateside Co-Administrator Connie Curilla remembers, “In 1995 as an ECHO intern, Chanda Eakins, now Chanda Williams, spent 6 months at HAFF. She lived with me and originated the idea which another intern expanded into what became Project Healthy Family. After HAFF, Chanda moved back to Ohio, and eventually married Matt Williams. They have remained on the HAFF mailing list through several moves.”

Chanda and Matt's daughters and their two cousins call themselves “four, crafty, Christian cousins”. They range in age from 9 to 13 and “love to play with rabbits, play outside, swing, and love all animals. They “love God and want to honor Him and like to make stuff and thought why not sell it?” They decided to give the money to Haiti “because our Mom/Aunt was a missionary there, and we want to help continue the mission.”

The girls make all the crafts themselves, except for washcloths crocheted by their grandmother. Their first craft sale in the front yard, made a grand total of $155.17 in one day. They started making crafts in April 2013, sold crafts several Saturdays throughout the summer of 2013, and plan to start again, adding new crafts in the summer of 2014.
HAFF is blessed by the Williams girls' support. Check out their website http://helphaiticrafts.webs.com/
